With the 3-C Change Non- Profit Foundation, I am looking forward to its' vision fulfilling. The women and children who participate in the programs provided will be equipped with what it takes to guide and develop themselves on a path of balanced family health. This effectively supports the eradication of family/domestic violence. The "school to prison pipeline" is a real system that through polices and laws such as those within public schools and the criminal justice system throughout this nation, have torn apart many families for many years, by using these inappropriate and non-supportive means of "dealing with" vulnerable and disadvantaged youth. I have seen the intersectionality of both of these oppressive systems. I believe that while addressing harmful policies is necessary, so it is necessary to address harmful family practices, passed down as culture from generation to generation. This is what 3-C Change is about.
Domestic violence, parental neglect and incarceration have been thriving oppressive systems devastating families throughout many areas of low income in our nation; we must do the work to see the change. Vulnerable, low-income, BIPOC families are often a target of "reform and reprimand" by systems that were not designed for their success from the start. Let us target, reform and reprimand, together in a way that embraces from an accountability position. It is my pleasure, to be able to serve in this capacity, as an overcomer of many negative and harmful effects of the same oppressive systems that 3-C Change, aims to eradicate. We are all in this fight together - saving our families, our communities and supporting change.

Short Bio: My community service background includes: The Girl Scouts Hearts of Michigan, The Corporation for National Community Service, teaching in public schools, youth workforce development, and more recently, I have canvassed, asking and surveying community members, to now developing programs and collaborations. But more significant than all of these is my lived experience as an incarcerated family member and domestic violence champion for change. It is this unfortunate demographic that has positioned me to support change for humanity and equipped me for the times. Let's go 3-C!
